Indy Driver has died
Dan Wheldan 1978-10-16-2011 has dies on lap 13 of race today. They have called the race and drivers are getting ready to do a 5 lap tribute salute...Sad day for all race fans......Las Vegas Motor Speedway is where they are at......

It is very sad...He had two young sons...The youngest just turned 8 months on the 1st....My condolences go out out his family...
The wreck was horrific! It is sad to lose one, but this wreck was one of the worst I have seen, Just thankful no one else dies... |
I'm not a racing fan, but this really was very touching.

Not a fan of racing, but I'm never a fan when an upstanding athlete who loves what they do loses their life doing just that. Sad story, especially with his young children.

Seriously horrible. Just brings up Dale Sr. all over again.
