the overall thing was good, but the choreography was awful! no one was 'together'
when the birds come out on bike, they all keep smacking wings cause the ones on the out side wouldnt scoot over LOL
it just seemed to me like they only worked on it for a few weeks before... but they have had 4 years.... so i dont get it...
it seems rushed and hurried.
i kept hearing about the lighting of the cauldron would be amazing... but it was a bunch of kids...

just not really impressed. bejing was SOOOOO good, i guess there was really no way london could measure up...

The only thing I thought was a little awkward, was the whole social media love story thing...didn't quite get it, but kinda did. It looked cool though! I also liked the storybook characters with the children's hospital thing. That was fun to watch!

I loved that part too, Mikey. Captain Hook, Mary Poppins .... I felt like a kid!

And I didn't think the choreography was off. I liked how they tried to take us through the history of GB. Danny Boyle has a unique mind, though. Not everyone is going to mesh with it.

I had issues with it, so I guess I am a bitch too LOL. Well, I am in kind of a mood today... All my issues had more to do with NBC coverage than it did the actual event.

My problems were first, SHUT UP MATT LAUER and chicky with him. Seriously. I can see what's happening without all the constant commentary. This is why I wish we had more choices to watch it. I don't see why one network would get the coverage. It's the Olympics on the world stage. America has to do it's corporate bidding crap and give it to one network... I would have liked options.

The show and production itself weren't too bad, a little weird in parts, but not horrid.

Now for my nitpicking which has more to do with the stupid USA coverage more than it has to do with the production itself... and I have A LOT of nitpicks.

First, yes, it did piss me off that our athletes were wearing uniforms made in china. That's ridiculous.

Second, I didn't like how our coverage focused on Romney. Someone had mentioned that it was "fair" since they showed other Prime Ministers and Michelle Obama. No, that still does not make it fair. Did they also show someone who is running and may or may not be the next prime minister of (nameofcountryhere)? No. It was our stupid coverage, again, that had to mix politics into it. This is supposed to be about our athletes, not about what some guy that is running for office, but isn't in that office yet is doing. They showed the athletes that represent the countries, and they showed a lot of the presidents/prime ministers/kings/queens that represent those countries. That's how it should have been.

Ok Paul McCartney. Yeah, I know he is one of the greats and a legend... but.... well... but... yeah. The official songs of the Olympics... only one out of the 5 official songs were performed (the one by dizzy rascal)... why was it paul mccartney and not say, one of the others that have an "official" song? I mean heck, Elton was one of the picked songs... one would think it would have been him... but whatev. (Yes I know, nitpicking)

The fireworks were AWESOME, the rings were really cool, the petals coming together made me feel like smoking something and putting on Pink Floyd LOLOL The Queen "parachuting in" was a bit cheesy. Breaking away to Seacrest while they did a moment for tribute was again more American crap.

And Aztek, who watched on BBC who showed the thing LIVE without all the chatter, then watched ours, said we cut a lot out of it. Which brings me back to wanting CHOICES.

Kinda like right now, I am still waiting for MY airing of Phelps/Lochte in the 400im, but I already know what happened because my stupid NBC news broadcast just HAD to tell me, even though I have been avoiding everything online all day.

Then of course there is the controversy of the flag dipping thing. Our coverage wouldn't show our athletes passing the queen, so we didn't get to see what "we" decided to do.

LOL! Meredith Viera? I do like commentary for certain things, hell it's the line of work I'm preparing for, but it was a little much for this style of event. It felt more like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade - Which I LOVE and I like the commentary they have...but that's just it, that event requires commentary this one didn't really. It was a show! We should have just been able to watch and save the commentary for the parade of countries and what not.
