I just finished the first episode, and I agree, they are pretty clueless, but then again, think about Rick & Co at the beginning of the outbreak. They were pretty unsure about what to do and what was safe. Hell, they were headed to the CDC because they thought there was a cure there. We all remember how that ended...

As time goes on, I'm sure they start to wise up. Of course, they're going to have to go through a lot more loss before they get to a point where they can successfully defend themselves. As is pretty obvious by the boat headed their way at the end of the episode, they need to learn that they're only interested in protecting themselves and what they have. I'm guessing they're getting ready to learn this the hard way.

I'm not giving up on this yet. I'm curious to know where in the timeline this falls with Rick and Co. I think I read somewhere that this is still while Rick is in his coma. If so, it's VERY EARLY on, but it's interesting to see how quickly things devolved from a "normal" society.

This is why "Fear" is absolute garbage.

Black guy: "Let's get on my boat and get the fuck out of here."

(passing people stranded on the water)

Horrible lead actress: "Aren't we gonna stop and help them?"

Black guy: "Fuck no. In fact, let's go faster"

Billowing smoke from some type of attack/accident ahead.

Black guy slows down the boat. Stops. And just hangs out until someone jumps out of the boat, almost gets eaten by floaty zombies, etc. And then decides, "Let's get out of here."

He doesn't stop for stranded people because he knows there's danger out there, but slows down and stops when he sees smokey danger in the waters??

And it helps if the viewer CARES for these characters. I don't. I don't think I will ever care if anyone of these people dies.

I think I'm done. I might watch another ep because I love pain.

I love the mixed reviews!!! Makes me second guess not watching the premiere just because I wonder which camp I'll fall into! Ha
