I haven't heard him. I heard Chris Martin was being courted. Who knows? I wonder if they'll be announced tomorrow at the ABC Upfronts.

This seems like a bad move to just get a big name involved. I dunno...Katy is super likeable and fun, but is she going to be able to be mean or is this going to be Ellen 2.0? I also imagine that she wasn't cheap, so not ABC is forcing itself into requiring big ratings. I dunno about this.
ABC should just focus on their upcoming music show 'Boy Band' and not get all wild and crazy here. Lol.

I see what you're saying about Katy, but they also need a "name" to sell so people can come back and watch. Plus, the whole "mean" thing is gone. Look at the Voice. The Simon factor doesn't seem to be appealing to the casual viewer, anymore. J Lo, Keith and Harry weren't mean, typically. I think they're trying to get a name to sell. As for Chris, does the tour go into next Winter? They could do auditions around the schedule this fall. All he'll need is to be available next like March/April when the show starts going live.
There are also rumors Carrie Underwood is in talks. I don't know if I buy that. But she is between albums right now.
